Death of popular Galway Truck Centre owner

10/01/2014

The late Tommie Keeler of Galway Truck Centre)

Tommie set up the business in 1979 along with his partner John O’Shaughnessy, who is now retired, having handed over the reins to his son Alan a number of years ago. Based on the Headford Road, Galway Truck Centre is a main dealership for DAF Trucks and Mitsubishi Fuso Trucks. The garage has been an Approved Test Centre since 1982.

Tommie was well-known to truck owners in Galway and beyond, and enjoyed a great rapport with his customers. It goes without saying that the popular garage owner will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

Tommie is survived by his partner Trish, children Clodagh, Orla and Nicki and extended family. His removal will take place from his home in Moycullen to the nearby Church of the Immaculate Conception at 7.30pm today. He will be laid to rest after 12 noon Mass tomorrow.

May he rest in peace.
