Twenty years a-growing

Approaching 20 years in business, Millennium Machinery Ltd is Ireland’s leading supplier of metalwork and manufacturing equipment. With over 2,000 satisfied customers nationwide, the Athlone-based company continues to go from strength to strength.

Millennium Machinery Ltd has been advising clients and taking care of their individual machinery and workshop needs since it was set up in 1999 by Eamon Leahy. Eamon continues to spearhead the company’s growth and success with the help of Padraig Burke and James Clarke, while his son Eddie is an associate director. The company’s central location enables it to provide a prompt and unrivalled service to clients across the country.

“The beauty of being based in the heart of Ireland is that we’re never too far away from anyone,” says sales manager James Clarke.

“We’re a small business with a growing customer-base. We have a combined experience of more than 50 years in the industry and with our in-house display area, tooling and parts store, we are a one-stop shop for all your metalwork and manufacturing equipment requirements.

“We pride ourselves on our superb aftersales service, our excellent product knowledge and our huge range of spare parts. If, in the unlikely event of us not having the part you need on the shelf, we will order it and have it within a matter of days. We launched an online store a couple of years ago, but what we’ve found is that most customers still prefer to come in to talk to us or for Eamonn to call out to them. It gives them a better understanding of the machine or part.”

He continues: “We have many customers in the transport industry who we supply equipment and parts to.”

Millennium Machinery Ltd understands everything there is to know about the machinery it sells. It’s that familiarity that enables its team of engineers to fully understand the requirements needed for the production floor, training facility or maintenance workshop. Whatever the size or whatever the configuration, the family business has the machines to deliver perfectly completed solutions, every time.

The Co. Westmeath firm has configured numerous workshops over the years, including UL (University of Limerick), Coca-Cola and Nestle (Wyeth Nutritional), and services and supports each of these on a regular basis, and as needed by its clients.

“We have a wide and varied customer-base, ranging from education training boards and universities to manufacturing, pharmaceutical and IT facilities as well as repair garages. Our customers include the likes of DIT (Dublin Institute of Technology), UL, LIT (Limerick Institute of Technology), Coca-Cola (European Refreshments), Nestle in Askeaton, Walsh Engineering Supplies in Limerick and AR Brownlow in Cork,” James explains.

The company’s partnership with the Sturmer Group gives it the capability to design, build and fit-out the facilities as needed. By quickly identifying the client’s needs, the company can deliver an exceptional new facility, speedily, effortlessly and flawlessly with the latest technology available.

Millennium Machinery Ltd is the sole distributor in Ireland for Sturmer’s Optimum range of metalworking machines which includes metal cutting band saws, metal circular saws, drilling machines, CNC milling machines, conventional milling machines, CNC lathes, conventional lathes and grinders. MetalKraft, Aircraft, Unicraft and Cleancraft are among the German company’s main products.

Characterised by high quality standards, Optimum’s CNC range are fitted with Siemens controls and the Millennium Machinery team can provide professional training on how to both operate and program these machines. If you are fitting out a new workshop, upgrading an existing one or starting a new project, they would like to get involved and make it a success.

“There is a growing demand for Optimum’s CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines in Ireland and this is something we’re focusing strongly on. However, our best-selling product continues to be Optimum’s metal cutting band saw. We also supply CARIF sawing machines and wet / dry hoovers, floor cleaning equipment and compressors to name but a few.”

Millennium Machinery Ltd is also a main agent for Newall UK which is a worldwide supplier of high-quality and high-performance digital readout systems (DRO) and linear feedback encoders. Celebrating 50 years in business, Newall has earned an enviable reputation for providing reliable, accurate and dependable products for a wide variety of measuring applications. Newall’s unique inductive encoder technology provides uncompromising accuracy within the harshest and most extreme environmental conditions. Newall backs its products with a global team that is dedicated to providing its customers with the high level of technical support and customer service.

Eamon Leahy and his team are available to listen and advise customers on how to solve problems from designing workshops to making products, and offer a no quibble 12-month warranty on all of their products.

Millennium Machinery Ltd would like to take this opportunity to thank its customers for their continued support. Here’s to the next 20 years of the successful metalwork and manufacturing equipment supplier!
